Paprastoji garšva (Aegopodium podagraria) – kiekvienam daržininkui iki skausmo pažįstama piktžolė, nes ją išnaikinti iš daržo yra sunku. Savaime auga pamiškėse, patvoriuose, pakelėse, soduose ir daržuose. Labiausiai mėgsta derlingą ir drėgną dirvožemį. Paprastai žydi vasarą gelsvai baltais, stambiais ir skėčio formos žiedais. Visas augalas yra valgomas ir vaistingas. Kai vėlyvą rudenį nunyksta lapai, kasamos kiaulpienių šaknys, kurios yra lietuviškas ženšenis – tonizuoja ir aktyvina organizmo apsaugines jėgas, padeda atsigauti po sunkių ligų.
